About Solid Rock Baptist Church
PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY STATEMENT
Of Solid Rock Baptist Church
• Solid Rock Baptist Church exists to exalt our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We exalt Him through evangelizing the community and through discipling people for the work of the ministry through the Word of God.
(Eph. 4:11-13 / IITim. 2:2 / Matt. 28:19,20)
• We desire to give people, time, money, and prayer to help fulfill the "Great Commission”. We will accomplish this by: winning the lost, both here and around the world, with the goal of reaching non-churched people with the gospel message; and by using our resources to gather people into this local church. We will seek to teach our members that we are all missionaries and that mission' projects at home are of equal importance to those overseas.
(Rom. 10:13-15)
• We will seek to make personal ministry and evangelism a priority for all men and women, equipping and involving them in vital ministries within and outside the church. We seek to produce strong, discipled Christians who are able to reproduce strong, discipled Christians.
(Matt. 28:19,20)
• We want the presence of Solid Rock Baptist Church to be known in the community. Therefore, we will aggressively strive to provide a variety of approaches to develop opportunities for the members of our church to reach the lost around us. We seek to be the salt of the world.
(I Cor. 9:19-23)
• We will seek to provide excellent Christian education for all ages -- children, youth, adults -- in order that people might trust Christ and grow into healthy, functioning Christians.
(Eph. 4:11-16)
• We will provide many other opportunities, in addition to the worship services, which will enhance the sense of belonging within the church. (e.g.: Men's fellowships, choirs, Bible studies, etc.)
• We will be a church of integrity in the area of finances, holding ourselves accountable to God, to the entire congregation, and responsible to the civil authorities so we might be an example and light, above reproach.
(Matt. 5:13-16 / Luke 16)
• We will seek to provide the best facilities, resources and experiences possible in worship, education, and special events. We will seek excellence in all that we do.
(Phil. 1:10 / Col. 3:17)
• We will seek to assist Christians in discovering and using their spiritual gifts for the benefit of the entire congregation. We will seek to train them to become functioning members of the body of Christ.
(Rom. 12 / I Cor. 12)
• We will undertake a variety of activities that promote fellowship among believers, and encourage people to study scripture, receive strength for their walk with Christ and achieve maximum personal growth.
(Col. 1:28 / II Tim 2:2)
• We will uphold Biblical standards of holiness for all Christians, including church discipline if necessary, as an expression of commitment to them and obedience to Christ.
(I Cor. 5)
• Our church exists to celebrate God's presence (worship), to communicate God's Word (evangelism), to educate God's people (discipleship), to demonstrate God's love (ministry).
