The Ruin of Nineveh

In tonight's lesson we get a vivid vision of Nineveh’s coming destruction as the seemingly invincible Assyrian capital is surrounded, breached, and brought to ruin. God would use the armies of the Medes and Babylonians to bring judgment upon a nation that had once been used to discipline His people but had gone beyond God’s purposes. The fall of Nineveh reminds us that human strength, security, and power cannot stand when God determines to bring judgment—and calls us to find our strength in the Lord and stand firm in Him.
